No page builder, no fields, no admin panels. Fix a typo from your phone or launch a new page from your laptop, with the AI you already use.
Just ask
Describe what you want, in plain language. Your AI opens a prism, makes the change, and sends you a live preview to review. Keep refining in the same chat, and publish when you’re happy.
Describe it
Ask in plain language, the way you’d brief a designer.
Review a live preview
Your AI makes the change in a prism and sends you a link to the real page.
Refine, then publish
Keep going in the same chat. Nothing goes live until you say so.
Bring your own AI
Subtext is an MCP server, so it works with Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI that supports MCP. Connect once, and there’s no new AI to learn or get approved.
Connect all your tools
Subtext works alongside every connector your AI already uses, from Gmail and Slack to HubSpot and Notion. Turn a Notion brief into a landing page, or pull a customer quote straight from an email.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Your AI reads and writes the code. You describe what you want, watch the changes on a live preview, and publish when it’s right.
Which AI tools work with Subtext?
Subtext works with Claude, ChatGPT, and any AI tool that supports MCP. You connect it once, and your AI can work on your site from the same chat you already use.
Is there a built-in AI?
No, by design. Your AI already knows your brand, has been approved by your company, and keeps getting better on its own. Subtext gives it everything it needs to work on your site instead of asking you to learn a new one.
How is this different from Framer or Webflow, now that they have AI too?
Page builders store your site in their own format, so their AI tools have to work through it. Subtext sites are real code, the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript your AI was trained on. That means it can design new components, add custom features, and keep everything on brand, without a builder’s limits.
Is this vibe coding?
No. Vibe coding tools generate a site from a prompt. Subtext starts from your professionally designed site and gives you the workflow developers use: every change in a private preview, reviewed by your team, and published only when you say so.
Is there a CMS? How does my team update content?
There’s no CMS to set up or maintain. Your AI is how you edit the site, whether it’s a typo fix or a new page. Teammates can leave comments right on a prism, and your AI can work through them.
What if my AI breaks something?
Every change happens in a prism, a private copy of your site, so nothing reaches visitors until an editor hits publish. Your AI is set up to never publish without permission. And if something slips through, you can roll back in about a minute.
Who owns the site? Can I leave?
You do. Your site is a standard Astro project in a git repo your company owns. Any developer or agency can work on it, and you can take it with you anytime.
What can my AI access, and is my content used for training?
Your AI can only reach the workspaces you approve when you connect it. Subtext doesn’t include an AI, so we never train on your content. What your AI provider does with your conversations follows their own data policy and your plan’s settings.
Will I lose my SEO if I switch?
No. Your pages keep the same URLs, redirects carry over, and your design and content stay the same. Connect your domain and your rankings come with you.
What happens to my domain and DNS?
You keep your domain and your existing nameservers. Point your domain at Subtext, and SSL certificates are handled automatically.
Who on my team can make changes or publish?
Everyone in your workspace can view prisms and leave comments, and editors can also make changes and publish. Seats are unlimited, so you can invite your whole team. Need feedback from a client without an account? Share a password-protected prism.
